88th Senior Amateur Championship

September 30-October 1, 2019 at The Kahkwa Club in Erie, PA

 

The competition is 36 holes and the field is 26 players in the Senior Amateur Championship and 16 players in the Super-Senior Amateur Championship.   Additional information will be distributed on the starting tees. 

 

Format: 36 holes of stroke play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole by hole playoff will take place on holes to be determined by the Committee.

 

Tee Markers: Play for the Senior Amateur is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,350 Yards).  Play for Super-Senior Amateur is from the WHITE WPGA tee markers (Approximately 6,100 Yards).

 

Practice: Practice round times can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at (814) 749-2705.  Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player, must be pre-arranged, and are at the discretion of the club. The Golf Professional is James Russel and the Director of Golf is Michael O’Connor. Practice rounds will be at a cost of $85.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies if they choose. Cart fees are included in the entry fee and no refunds are issued to players who choose to walk.  Caddie expenses are the responsibility of the player.

 

Food: The WPGA provides coffee, juices, and lunch for players only. Caddies and spectators may purchase lunch at their own expense.  All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED--PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and fifteen minutes (4:15). The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation all players should return to the clubhouse. Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense. Directions to the club can be found on The Kahkwa Club website.
